elidelioMore short stories yay. I've also started a few things that I think I'll continue.
Finished:
Sewing Machine’s Love Story / 缝纫机之恋 by 静水边
This one was cute, but the development of the relationship felt a little, idk, forced? rushed? which I don't really hold against such a short story. I quite like tsundere characters so I was very fond of the president, and the MC was very fun as well, he felt like he reacted to things like a normal person. I wasn't entirely sure at what point the MC stopped pretending and actually developed feelings for the ML, and I have no idea why the ML's flip switched and he went from 'this gay (derogatory) is doing what i pay him to do' to 'this gay (endearingly) is clearly in love with me', he just seemed needlessly dense in that aspect, even though he supposedly was a very smart and capable man. overall, though, the story was light-hearted and sweet. 6/10
Rebirth of the Pampered Wife’s Daily Life / 重生之宠妻日常 by 城南花开
This one was actually very cute! Going in I thought both the MC and FL would be reincarnated, but it was only the MC. I really liked the way the MC's relationship with the FL developed, he started out simply trying to do her a favour because he remembered her from his past life, and ended up falling in love with her through that as opposed to having already been in love with her in his past life and coming back to look for her specifically (which i don't mind when done properly but in this case i think it fits much better with the theme of giving both of them a new chance at life). I like that both the MC and FL were capable individuals who made each other better, and even though it was brief, their relationship was super sweet and the development felt right. 7/10
After the White Moonlight Came Back, the Stand-in Fell Into Unemployment Crisis / 白月光回来后，替身陷入失业危机 by 项绿瓜
This one was just plain fun. The characters don't even have names, they're just their tropes, and it keeps a comedic tone consistent throughout. As with the Sewing Machine story, the feelings between the president and the stand-in felt kinda forced, or at least the stand-in's change of mind felt kinda like that, but I did get a clearer sense of when the stand-in changed his view of the president in this one than in sewing machine. I also really loved the white moonlight and I wished he'd been in the story more! The author also wrote a more fleshed out version of this short story, and I'm curious to see how these characters look once they're fleshed out. As always, the story was a bit limited in scope by it being so short, but i enjoyed it despite minor complaints. 7/10

Faking Straight / 伪装直男 by 常念君
I just started this one and so far I'm really liking it. The characters are fun and the interstellar setting is generic but interesting enough, though i'm not sure how to feel about the main ''there are no gay people in this world'' part of the setting lmao, but so far it's been handled fine. also, come on mc you know so much about the ml he's clearly the mysterious space pirate don't be dense. anyway i see myself sticking with this one, wee
Transmigrating Into The Heartthrob’s Cannon Fodder Childhood Friend / 穿成万人迷的炮灰竹马 by 妾在山阳
Please dear god i need to know if this one is actually getting picked up the half a chapter we got last month dropped such a huge bomb and I already forgot most of everything that happened. I remember it was so good though, I'll see how the new tl fares and if there are no more news i'll go ahead and look at the raws.
