The window right next to my desk overlooks the garden, so every time I turn I get a good look at all the critters that swing by to visit. Usually it's squirrels playing in the trees, I've also seen several Cardinals that must have their nests nearby, seeing as the bush just in front of the garden fence seems to be their preferred hangout spot -- though they haven't shown up for a while, must not be their season. I've also spotted a few green anoles chilling in the windowsill and around the broken drainage pipe that was once connected to the roof gutters. That's the spot where I once released a toad that had somehow gotten under our fridge.

I've started noticing a few American Robins hanging out in the garden. It rained this morning and two of them were in the garden pecking at the worms that came out. There was also a little brown bird hanging out by the window, I'm pretty sure it was some type of wren, but seeing as I only got a good look at its belly (It was hanging vertically on the bricks next to the window with its belly to me and its back to the rest of the garden) I couldn't really tell what type. There's also a little caterpillar that's been hanging around these past couple of days, it's a little fuzzy and has three pairs of three legs at the bottom, middle, and top of its body, its brownish, i think, or green -- can't really tell what colour because it's against the light of the outside. I've tried looking up what kind it may be but nothing looks quite right, it's a little hard for me to identify it based on pictures online because I'm only getting a good look at its belly from my angle, and also it's smaller than my pinkie finger, so it's hard to make out the details unless I pull out a magnifying glass or something.

I'm kinda waiting for the Cardinals to come back, they used to come up right to the window as if to say hi, though I know they were probably just looking for bugs or attracted to the shiny surface. The Robins don't ever come nearly as close, they stay near the middle of the garden, in between the trees. The quick flashes of orange are the only reason I'm able to spot them at all, their browns really blend in with the environment.
