Being nosey

elidelioI love scrolling through Latest Things, its fascinating getting glimpses into people just doing their thing. I'm nosey like that, what can I say? So far I have identified a few groups of dreamwidthers (dreamers? no that's another thing, uh, journallers? whatever).
You have the standard fannish users: the RPers, the ficcers, the icon-makers, the coders, and other miscellaneous community posters; then you have the cyrilic-language blogs (I'm assuming russian/ukranian based on what kind of things they post) and the two most active communities whose name escapes me rn (p-something old and p-something new); then there's the chinese blogs which seem to almost exclusively post smut?, they're always full chapters of some sort of fiction (can't tell if original or fanfic) and 9 times out of 10 its smut; and then you have the personal journal users, whose notable individuals include that one guy that posts every youtube video he watches, whoever runs the blog posting daily pictures of that one girl ever since she was born, and a few prolific users that keep popping up all over the site.
The longer I scroll, the more I find myself recognising familiar handles, and the more the temptation grows to just start conversations with some of these people. Would it be weird? It might be a little weird.
I'm just over here in my corner, doing my own little thing, and they're over there doing theirs. Idk.
