I never make new year resolutions because I have no self-accountability, in much the same way that self-imposed deadlines don't really work for me since I know the guy who set those deadlines and he's full of shit. That being said, here are some things I could realistically (hopefully) accomplish in 2024 seeing as I've already accomplished some form of them in '23:
  • Write 90k words (fanfic or original, though fanfic is more likely). This year I wrote a little over 130k words worth of fanfic so 90k should be perfectly doable! Though I am giving myself space to do less because meeting and exceeding a smaller goal is much nicer than failing to meet a huge goal haha.
  • Keep working on my translation projects and put out at least 1 chapter per month. I did 60 chapters overall for 2023 which is a lot but a considerable decline from 2022. I don't feel too bad about it personally since I did get a little burnt out from working my brain, but I do want to finish tling the novels in less than 4 years (which is how long it would take me at this pace).
  • Participate in at least 2 fanfic exchanges. This year was my first for participating in fanfic exchanges and I had a lot of fun, but I do admit there was a point at the end of the year where I was doing 3 challenges with very similar deadlines and I realised I had made a mistake. It was all good though ^^b. I definitely want to participate in Yuletide and the Fandom Growth Exchange again for sure, so those are the 2 that I'm gunning for. Any that come between or before or after will be nice bonuses.
  • Read more books in spanish. Read more books in general, but especially in spanish. I don't want to become completely illiterate in my mother tongue rip.
I also want to rearrange and clean out my messy closet (which I am dreading but I know I must), finish my ongoing joondok fic (which is my longest chaptered fic at roughly 35k words and counting, that's a lot for me), and hopefully finish worldbuilding for a Call of Cthulhu campaign I hope to run my friends through soon (if I keep talking about it I'm sure it will make itself that's how that works)!

Oh dear. I can relate. But I'm so glad some goal-setting can work for you. Fingers crossed and good vibes sent your way for the successful achieving of them!

Thank you! :D
Collective vibes generation should push the goals along nicely.

Dino Fridays is posting weekly dino pics - especially concrete dinos and other oddities. I'm a bit obsessed.

I relate to that first sentence so much! And I'm with you on cleaning out the messy closet. It needs to be done and yet, very intimidating.

Good luck with all the goals! :D

This is very relatable :D Exchanges are so hard to balance right, haha. Congrats on all the words written last year and best of luck with your goals :)
